Hi,

I am looking to replace our leaky flasks!

Fed up with those horrible pour through lids that are not easy to clean.

I have seen Stanley flasks and wondered whether they are worth the £25 ish price tag.

Please bear in mind I can't nip to the high street shops as I live in the far north, so will need to be mail order / online shopping.

Thanks.

I couldn't agree more - the B. pour-thru tops are a pain to clean. There, that's got rid of the blue face

ive had lots of flasks over the years but the best by far is the thermos work series stainless steel flask. It really does stay hot for 24 hours! Worth every penny, i should of found it years ago. I tested it against 3 others i own and it beat them in the stay hot test by 12 to 14 hours.

shop around for a good price though.

250

  • Rubber bumpers for added protection

The stainless steel flasks are good and worth the investment, in the better makes, if you look after them. The Achilles heal of this type of flask is the join around the neck which can be sprung if it gets a hefty knock like dropping onto a hard floor.

The gist of this post so far, seems to be that you get what you pay for. Thanks for the "heads up" for the Stanley and the Thermos work series flasks

I do a lot of night sea fishing in the winter and have found that the Stanley flask is very poor at keeping the contents warm once opened and consequently a waste of money. However the thermos 'works 'a treat.

I bought a 1 litre Vango stainless steel flask in the Gooutdoor sale for £5 ,I drilled 3 small holes near the base and filled the gap between inner and outer with expanding foam,it appears to keep things warmer longer.

I've got a Thermos stainless steel flask, about 3.5 mug-fulls size. I've taken it out with me each day this weekend and it's kept the coffee good and hot all day, from about 8.45 to about 5.30. It's got a stopper that you turn half way round(ish) to pour, so you don't take the whole thing out and lose the heat. It's a few years old and still works well.

Have you considered those pump action ones. My OH broke the Thermos and came across this device which we thought was a lot better. I forget where we got ours, possibly Wilkinsons or The Range. Here is a link to the type of thing I mean but ignore the price as we certainly did not pay anything like that for ours.

after trying various inexpensive flasks in the past, i finally bought a thermos and it was far superior in terms of keeping things warm.

to the story very very short, that got broke about a year ago, and when we went to replace it, we went for a stainless steel one, keeping with the thermos brand.  i can honestly say they are worth the little extra in the cost, as we were finding that the contents were still hot 24 hours later!

got ours from Argos, it came with two thermos mugs as well
