Hello

I am a lifelong camper but message board virgin, can anyone tell me if they know which air compressor is the quietest. I am lazy enough not to want to use a mannual pump but am quite noise phobic particulary when setting up on an lovely peaceful site.

I wanted a mains adapter one as airbed is spare bed in the house too and the recharge option seems great as car is not always on the correct side of the tent and it would be easier if raining.

The 12v cig lighter yellow argos ones are quite noisy I think, does anyone know if the noise decreases as price increases?

Times seem to vary from 1 min to 5 min to inflate dble bed, does it get noisier if faster?

A friend had a rechargable quiet one from Halfords for £14 but they dont seem to stock it anymore

Thanks

Paula

We`ve had three and they are all noisy.....one cheap one whose make escapes me, one from Millets, which broke and now we have an Aerobed, and I find that one fairly noisy too....but it`s rechargable, but expensive

Probably best off going for the quickest one rather that the quietest, the noise will be over and done with a bit sooner..........

Welcome to the forum by the way, hope you have lots of fun in the madhouse!!!

Hi, I bought one from tesco, high volume rechageable, it looks like a cordless drill and it's not as loud as the smaller ones but still not 'silent' but does inflate quicker than the smaller ones

Cheers guys, it seems like size matters is logical and I do like the jam it in the car door idea. Will go for quickest and run off to the toilet while husband uses the inflator! Have a good new year.

It's only a lot of noise for a very short itme and since we all have to do it when first setting up (and sometimes during the stay!) then noone really takes much notice.

I know what you mean though - I'm forever telling my lot not to be making noise if they can help it (whilst others seem to make enough for the whole site)

Welcome to posting.
