hi from previous postings ive read it seems that a lot of people do use these, this is one of the things on my to get list as well. They seem to be able to cook most things so should be good for tenting

Life isn't a rehearsal, be all you can be, follow your dreams and live life to the full!!
Last week we bought an 800w infrared oven from Netto for £24.95 it looks just like a mini oven and comes with a tray. We've tried it in the house and it's brill!
We would recommend one of these, we have both kinds the JML glass one and the one in the link. Of the 2 the Elitech is better, it is lighter comes apart for easy cleaning, the lead is kettle style as opposed to the fixed one in the JML. The Elitech lives on our caravan as we have no oven. We would swop the JML one for another Elitech anyday. Tip take some silver foil for heating pies pizzas etc as it can brown the top before food is cooked thru. Still an excellent peice of kit.
Thanks for the info, We bought one from bidtv.com. on Tuesday and it arrived today. We paid approx £24 + £8 postage. It looks good and we look forward to using it.
Hi, pardon my ignorance but was thinking of getting a mini oven, how do you use these halogen ovens for cooking things like pizza also how wide are they to take things like that!!
Got our Halogen oven from Liddl's same sort of thing as Netto's but comes witha 3 year warranty does pizza's a treat can use it as a oven or grill, ideal for camping even on a 10 amp site, as there's only two of us we have one in the house as well it's made the main oven nearly redundant {its a lot cheaper to run.}
I notice you are in Sth Lanarkshire, I'm in EK it wasn't that Lidl you got your oven from by any chance? I am on the hunt for the Lidl oven but as with everything I want it now!! Just wondered if you could remember when you bought it, so I know how long I need to wait for it to come in?
We bought our last oven early December 2008 so they should be in again before too long sorry about the Lidl spelling mistake its called having a senior moment!

If you cant do someone a good turn,don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know,and little things mean much more later in life.

These type of ovens tend to cook quick, try knocking 20% off the cooking times and temperature as a rule of thumb. Doing a joint of meat wrap it up in silver foil, less mess and tends not to "dry". If you're doing pies, wrap them in foil and cook them on the lower part of the oven, as they tend to burn the tops. The self cleaning bit is rubbish, you will still have to wash them properly!!!! Fantastic bit of kit for the full fry up brekkie.
We bought the Elitech for £16 inc.P&P off Bidtv 2 years ago, stonking bargain.
