  had problems with gas freezing [blue bottle] when night fishing over xmas.Can anyone give advise on preventing this.Im thinking of getting a coleman double burner but do they flair up when first lit,as it will be under my large brolly where i sleep.

as ginandtonic suggests, get a propane cylinder which is probably the least expensive option as you already have a cooker.

if you want to buy a new cooker, then i'd recommend a Trangia runs off meths and works well in all weather conditions.

You could try some kind of insulating jacket for the butane bottle, (maybe neoprene?) but propane would be better.  Better still, as eel28 suggests, use a liquid fuel instead.  If you've got pots of cash, Primus Omni Fuel stove will burn anything you care to put in it!  You can put unleaded straight from you car if you wish, butane, propane, meths, whatever you want!  You buy the empty fuel bottles seperately and fill with whatever suits at the time.

*Running high draw appliances such as industrial gas heaters will actually cause ice to form on the bottles, even indoors.

Use propane or liquid fuel.

I should have said, I also have a Trangia! It's 25+ years old now and still going strong.

Hi

I have had a Tranga 25 for 20 years to and have never used anything else too cook on when camping. I feed 2 adults and 2 kid (one of which could eat you out of house and home)

I am going to treat myself to a kettle for it this year.
