quick questions, anyone got one? do you tow as well? wot car do you use? my hubby just scratches his head wen i mension it ,kids want to take bikes away ,we only have an astra estate ,trailer (very full), roof box, tent goes in boot and all equipment in trailer, clothes n sleeping bags in roof box,do you think i'd be pushing it with weight on the tow bar?
Hi, I don't know about weight, I'm not good at stuff like that!
We have a maxxraxx and it is great, the build quality if fantastic and it is really sturdy and easy to use. The bracket was on my towbar when I got shunted from behind last year at traffic lights and I was incredibly impressed at how well it stood up to impact!
We tow our Brenderup trailer at the same time but we do have to make sure we configure the bikes correctly with the smallest on the outside to make sure that we don't hit the bikes when turning the trailer. We only carry two bikes. I've got some piccies somewhere which I'll try to load up over the next couple of days.
I'd give them a ring if you've got any specific queries I've spoken to them a few times and they are very very helpful.
------------- You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
We have a Honda CRV and tow a big Erde 193, and have the MaxRaxx. Brilliant piece of kit, BUT we can only put two bikes on the four bike rack when we are towing. The other two bikes have to go on the trailer. The reason is that when we are turning the trailer would crush the bikes at full lock. Even with the height extension this is still the case. Having said all that, it is a really solid and well made piece of kit - the best available. We have carried the bikes across Europe etc - absolutely stable with no problems.
------------- Hotels Suck. Villas are great but I can't take my Cadac on the plane....
