Hi

Can anyone recommend a good but inexpensive 3 season sleeping bag for a child? I have been looking and can only seem to find up to 2 season ones. My kids have 2 season bags now but also have fleece liners inside and a blanket over the top!

We are trying to cut down on the amount of bulky things to go in the car!

Thank you

Cathie

Hi Cathie,

One thing I can recommend is not to buy a bag that is specifically for kids ie small - just buy an adult bag and use a belt or similar to tie off the bottom of the bag to size.  This way, you won't have to buy another new bag when kids get bigger.

Hi Cathie,

My kids have the outwell dino & flowies sleeping bags, I'm not sure what seasons these are but i do no that they keep my two toasty warm, in fact very often they are two warm. I can understand what macemen is saying but for my kids it just adds to the camping experience that they have their own bags, we have the chairs & airbeds to match also!! Anything to keep them happy!!

Yup, will second that. My kids have one of these each. They're not quite warm enough for a Scottish April but they're more than fine for the rest of the year. If your kids are very small, tie off the bottom below their toes with a strip of fabric. (String will damage the bag.) No point in having all that dead air space. And, also if they're small, you might want to replace the drawcord/toggle adjuster in the hood section with elastic, just for safety.
