Depends what else you are running off the hook up and what how many amps on the hook up.  If you have a fridge check what wattage that uses but on a regular 10amp hook up you could run a fan heater on the lower setting of 1kw overnight although we havent done this.  At the end of last season we used a halogen on low early evening then on high for the last hour before bed then switched it off at bedtime - as long as you insulate your airbeds well you and have good sleeping bags you should be ok.

You could leave a fan heater on overnight, if.......you can sleep with the noise

We use a skirting heater (from Argos) in the bedroom pod, as it's silent running - it's also slim & easy to pack into the car. You could also use a convector heater, or an oil filled radiator overnight, but these are both bulkier to pack in the car.

we thought about getting one of these http://www.alertelectrical.com/Electric-Heating-Portable/Convector-Heaters/Dimplex-15kw-Latitude-Convector-Heater-2-Heat-Settings---Creme-only-DIMDXLAT150C.asp as I don't think I could stand the noise of a fan heater if we did have to have it on at night!  This one on the 750w setting should be fine I think... and it's small(ish).

We use a fan heater with a built in thermostat. On a night we turn the temp down and the heater switches on and off all night, the noise is barely audible.
