Just watched the weather forecast (brrrr!) and it made me think about our next camping trip at Easter. Remembering the snow last Easter, can anyone please offer recommendations as to which is the best heater for me to buy to use in my large tent?
Thanks!
If you have EHU a fan heater will heat all of the tent but obviously some can be a bit noisy, a halogen creates a nice glow but only heats directly in front of it, if on gas a blackcat or now known as bluecat i think seems the safest, We use a fan heater, cheap and efficient unless everyone puts one on and starts tripping the supply

Depends what else you are running off the hook up and what how many amps on the hook up. If you have a fridge check what wattage that uses but on a regular 10amp hook up you could run a fan heater on the lower setting of 1kw overnight although we havent done this. At the end of last season we used a halogen on low early evening then on high for the last hour before bed then switched it off at bedtime - as long as you insulate your airbeds well you and have good sleeping bags you should be ok.
You could leave a fan heater on overnight, if.......you can sleep with the noise
We use a skirting heater (from Argos) in the bedroom pod, as it's silent running - it's also slim & easy to pack into the car. You could also use a convector heater, or an oil filled radiator overnight, but these are both bulkier to pack in the car.
We use a fan heater with a built in thermostat. On a night we turn the temp down and the heater switches on and off all night, the noise is barely audible.

------------- Some people have nothing much to say, but you often have to listen for a while before you realise it!
I bought two of these from asda bout 3 weeks ago costing £10 a piece thought they were a bargain to add to my camping stuff for my first time going electric
Fab, going for argos one...with built in thermostat, cuts off, also has two settings, hot and cold, so when too hot in the summer(if we get one) we can stay cool and comfortable...
also consider getting one that has auto cut off if knocked over... my one from Morrison's has that. cost £10 so not breaking the bank either. you could use a timer switch to switch it off a little while after you go to sleep. safer option means you'll not lie awake worrying about the heater ( I would!)
what about a oil filled radiator. these give a nice steady heat i use them in my office and at home, bit more money to buy but a better heater i think. I would of thought they would safer too.
