I would have thought that a Cobb gives off Carbon Monoxide? Not something to play around with

What about a timer switch on a lesure battrey and and a electric heater

set to come one couple of times in the night to take the chill off and then about 1 hour before the time you get up

The cobb is a nono inside a car. Inside a tent there is plenty of ventilatoin (but still too little for my comfort and a Cobb).

Go look for an eberspächer or webasto.

There are 2 kinds, 1 one that warms the engine via the coolant flow, and one that blows hot air into the car.

You would need the second type, cabin-heater.

Quite often you can find the Eberspächer cabin heaters for less than 120£ on ebay.

Don't use anything with a naked flame - Eg. Cobb, unless you don't want to wake up!

Consider perhaps a 240v generator. Honda do, so called, silent ones.

I've spent many nights sleeping in the back of cars. I opt for lots of insulation! I use the car heater to warm the interior, and then hang up those wool blankets you can get from the army surplus shops. I find that if you hang these blankets so that they cover the side and rear windows and down behind the front seats you make a sort of woolly box which keeps the heat in well. Make sure you have a decent sleeping bag and you should be fine!
