Hi All.
If anyone needs a LPG alarm, Lidl have them on sale at the moment for £12.99, throw the mains brick away and connect the alarm to a 12 volt supply job done.

Cheers Big Trev.

Needs to be fitted as low as possible,as LPG is heavier than air.

Here it is.  Looks good.  Says it detects Butane, Methane & Propane, so it covers domestic gas too.  Butane & Propane are heavier than air, Methane is lighter, so I guess it depends on what the detector is being used for as to where it will have to go.

Steve.

Did you know,

LPG (liquid petrolium gas)  expands 250 times when it changes from a liquid to a gas.

Is normally smell less and has a stenching agent added so we can smell it.

Can be smelt at .5% in air.

It's explosive range is 2 to 10% in air so you can smell it long before it would exploade.

Butane and propane are heavier than air, methane is lighter.

Methane comes to our home through the gas network, bottled gas is always propane (red bottle) or butane (blue bottle).

Propane vapourizes at a lower tempereture than butane so is better to use during the winter.

Propane burns with a hotter flame than butane.

I know lots of boring suff I do

Not long after I posted that yesterday the link went dead.  I guess LIDL change the web site offers on a Thursday.  It was there, honest.  I'm not seeing things....
