Hi there

swapped my TT for a Bailey Ranger 510/4 2007 model and I am a bit confused re the size of the awning, the handbook states 954, measured it myself and its 948.

Has anyone got ones of these vans and what size awning fits, do i buy a bit bigger or a bit smaller for a snug fit?

The difference between 948 and 954 is nothing to worry about, its just over an inch at each side.

I'd say a size 12 would be about right.

A 950cm (Isabella G18) would fit...

I was told its better to be slightly bigger than too small - When you find yourself on a sloping pitch you will need the extra size or you'll struggle to get it to fit!

Too small can make it difficult, but too big is impossibel you will be unable to get any tension on the sides and roof and in the slightest wind it will flap about and treaten to take you and the van with you. In addition if it is slack then in heavy rain you will find an enormous puddle of water collecting in the roof just over the doorway and when you go out you will get about 10 gallons of water poured directly on top of you.

With an awning length of 948 or 950 your van is ideal size, a 950 awning cannot fail to fit snug and tight and allow you plenty of opportunity to to fit it if the ground levels alter part way along the van.

I'm watching an awning on ebay the moment item number 190287857625 in case this link doesn't work.  It says a 900 but on the stuff at the top it says to fit 900 - 924.  My caravan book says my awning rail is 894m.  I thought that this should fit as so many awnings say that a 900 will fit my caravan.  Do you think i should bid on this or not?
