I gave up looking for a wide but short sleeping bag, I use a double duvet folded over instead - if I get too hot I can stick my feet out. And when the dogs jump on it with muddy paws the cover goes in the washing machine and I can put a clean cover straight on it - my old king size sleeping bag had to go to the launderette every time and took ages to dry properly. Much better.
