perhaps what people really need is one delta peg to show them the proper angle to put in other types of pegs,
Delta: That is a ridiculous remark and insulting. You will have to send this super-peg that out-performs Delta in normal soil. As tested recently Delta are twice as effective as rock pegs in normal soil.
all we are really getting on here is a clever advertising campaign and an effort to brainwash people that deltas are the only peg that work
Delta: This so-called 'advertising campaign' was not dreamt up by me. It is a relection of satisfaction by other customers on this forum who are simply passing on the benefit of their experience of a great product in foul weather.
I don't believe Delta's hold any better with gusting winds pulling in different directions they only hold better when you have one direction steady pull which as we all know is not how wind and flapping canvas works
Delta: Again, ridiculous. Usually you have a prevailing wind. If the wind changes direction, the pegs on the other side take the strain. The wind doesn't bounce back and forward. BTW, talking about one direction,if the wind changed, your guy would have to rotate 125 degrees before a Delta came out the ground, that means your canvas would be in the same direction, imagine the state your tent would be in after that.
as a seasoned poster I also know how severall companies work to get their products on open forums lets face it the new president of the USA worked out that one
Delta: I can't see the connection with the president of the USA butI only introduced Delta pegs in passing back in 2003. Ian and Steve kindly let other people continue to recommend Delta. The product's popularity grew from recommendation(which I believe is the best form of advertising). There is no money involved, no back-handers, no conspiracy theory. I provide a good product with the best service I can. What I can see is a few members who feel that their famous 'pitching skills' are being compromised. It's now 2009, we've been to the moon and all I've done is add an arm to a peg that has existed for hundreds of years. Innovation helps us all.

Note that the post is directed generally,
Glad you cleared that up Rex, because it looked like you were commenting on something that had not been said in this thread.

the delta peg as been at the end of unjust criticisms a few times by members who have not and refuse to test them,so my post was directed at them,
Again, glad you've cleared that up.
I've never criticised Delta Pegs but look forward to trying them out, if and when they become available for the prevailing conditions I camp in .... i.e. sandy or compacted stony ground.

The point of posting is surely to pass on information

or to just express an opinion, but yes, agreed!

... not making suggestions as you did that my post was not referring to the subject in hand, ....
Regards
Rex.
Well, in truth, until you cleared up the points above, your comments had little to do with the contents of this thread, but, as you have admitted, with previous threads.
It would be nice if you referred to that fact when you made your comments so that confusion could be avoided.
Cheers

What a shame indeed. Same old same old. Time to close.
For future reference, just a few threads on the subject
