You should have snapped that CF25 up at £170, the RRP is around £400!!, the CF25 (CoolFreeze) that I have have definatley works on 12v in fact it also works on 24v, and the mains is via the Waeco adapter as that kicks out 24v, cheaper 12v adapters don't work as well as the Waeco adapters if at all. I agree with others that for portable use the CAB40 is cumbersome, and also the CF25 is a true mini Frige/Freezer and uses a almost silent compressor, and not the Absorbtion process like most £150 coolers, which will struggle in very hot climes..
