I have eventually narrowed my search for a new tent down to 2 but I am still undecided - can anyone give me some advice and pros and cons with both of these tents before I buy.

Also if anyone knows where the cheapest place is to pick either of these tents up would be great.

cheers

Have you seen the tents pitched?

It is always a good idea to visit a camping store with a tent display so you can get a real feel for your choice

It seems to be very common for people (including us) to have their hearts set on something then when they see it for real they change their minds

Always worth a look and you never know what will take your fancy and you might even find a bargain

I would go and have a look at them first too.

They are both big pod tents with big footprints.

I have seen the Vango diablo 600 pitched but not the 800 but I have not seen the Kura.  We live in the North East and I can't seem to find any places at the moment that have their tents pitched.

Hi There,

We had the same query, There are pro's and cons with both, we looked at the diablo 800, which has 3 decent sized sleeping pods, but not an awfull lot of living space, the other thing was if its raining you have to put the inner up first which will get wet. The kura 800 has 2 smaller double sleeping pods and 1 single sleeping pod. but the living space is huge, the Kura is still clased as a tunnel tent and the door is on an angle so if it was to rain it would rain right into the tent. The Kura has lots of windows making the tent nice and bright. We ended up plumbing for the Kura, We had a tunnel tent before so it should be easy enough to put up. ( still waiting for decent weather to try this) As I mentioned before about the sleeping pods, they are smaller than the diablo but you can still fit a queen sized double height airbed as we tried in the shop. We had a Vango canopy from our last tent, so we will use it on this tent to solve the problem of letting the rain in., hope this helps

Claire

Can't WAIT to try out our Kura. It's lovely airy and bright. And we're going to use the canopy too. Everyone always goes on about the doors and the rain with Vango's... I've never really seen the problem... If you're going outside and it's raining, you're going to get wet... if the door is open, there is bound to be some rain that will get in whether you've got a sloping door or not... unless I'm getting the wrong idea of what is meant.

I've seen quite a few Diablo's and the inner pitch must have been the reason we didn't pursue it. And I think it was a bit too big...

The Kura 800 DLX has x2 3 person sleeping pods and a 2 person pod. Two will be for us sleeping (4 adults) and the smaller one will be for storage, so it's the perfect size and the living area is HUGE which is what we wanted.

We're about to buy a Kura 800 - just wanted to check out what others have been saying!! We have a Vango Diablo at the mo and love the porch - think that's the one thing we'll miss with the Kura but I've just found that there's a canopy available so I think that'll be a must for it as well...
