Do you have a spare bed in the caravan? Why no try a bed guard that slipd under the mattress

we have always used the spare bed with a bed guard and he was fine.  when we have guests we just chuck him in with us as the double is plenty big enough.  think you will really struggle to fit a travel cot in and i know there are camping ones but they are tiny too small for an eight months old.  or if no spare bed put the little one in the bed with rail and bigger one in a ready bed on the floor maybe?

depends on the size of the van - ours is a 4 berth (alledgedly), but fortunately, father in law is a dab hand with caravans (experienced 'vanner & qualified mechanic), so he's made us a bed guard for our van as the guards on the market are designed for single divan beds.  Perhaps, if you have a 4 berth with bunks, you could adapt a 'baby guard' (stair guard) to fit - Ikea do one that would have been big enough for our van, but it is a 20 yr old van.

It's down to measuring & research I'm afraid - but if it's a reasonably new van, then have a chat with the manufacturer - perhaps they can help.

Bringing up baby to be a seasoned caravanner - we bought one to holiday cheaply - working well so far - & caravanners are lovely - helped us on our virgin voyage & our awning!!!
