Hello, have not yet bought my EHu but just wanted to ask those with an aerobed if all EHU's can cope with blowing these up? We have managed to borrow two aerobeds so have no previous experience with them.

I should say so.It more if an appliance gets hot is when you start to notice.

I cant see why not. An aerobed pump cant be much more powerfull than a normal electric pump

Fan heaters, kettles etc take alot more power

Which Aerobeds are they?

If they are Active or Active Explorer then you can pre charge the pump at home.

We've never had any problems with the electric using aerobeds. We don't usually have anything plugged in at the same time though.

Hope you don't mind me joining this thread Vic - was just wondering if you can use the in car 12v cigarette lighter to blow up Aerobeds? Have been able to use it for normal airbeds, would it be ok for the large ones too?

Yes no problem plugging in your aerobed pump on EHU.  We have and do.  Heating appliances are the ones to watch out for. One heating appliance at a time.  Heck you'll always have a EHU trip on the first trip or so and swan off to reception with your tail between your legs!! (I take my screw driver now to reset if I feel it's appropriate). If it was an out of the ordinary trip I'd ask for it to switched back on.

Before i managed to buy a new bed and mattress,i used a couple of aero beds in my bedroom.The pumps are great and really powerful,and inflate them incredibly quickly.As i was using them as a non permenant bed,i just left them inflated.over the months,they widen and stretch.so if they start out 2 feet wide when first inflated,after a month or so,they stretch to become about 3 feet wide... Then weaken and leak after about 3 to 4 months.My consistent and continual use of them as a basic bed,probably led them to become stretched and weaken.I would let the air out if i was using them for camping,so they last longer.

The instructions with the Aerobed Active say not to plug the pump into mains and use it directly on the bed whilst plugged in - you need simply to charge the pump via mains, detach from power and then use it. Charging takes a while (12 hours from flat). You can however use the 12v lead from your car battery and pump the airbed up directly.
