Hi all, we started camping as a family last year & intend to refine our approach to a few things for the forthcoming season!

our cooking facility was a disaster last year so I have purchased  2x simple 'case' style burners. I now need a decent stand that will allow us to cook & balance associated 'cup/ plate etc - will be outdoors so will need a windshield.

I'm looking at the ones that have a couple of fold out shelves at different heights, but before I spend £50 I would welcome your advice on stability, size, weight, praticallity etc......

& if you have one what make , price & wher did you purchase?

Many thanks!!!

Argos one.

Cant see past this one. We've had it for 3 years now and its very stable. It folds down into its own bag and doesnt take much space when packed into the car.

The only downside is that it hasnt got a windshield, but these can be purchased separately in go outdoors.

I'd be careful with the sand paper you might scratch something you dont want to damage, the non-slip stuff is brill for camping , great on the table as place mats, coasters, use under breadboard dead safe

I dont have shares in the company, lol

Got both the Suncamp and the Gelert with all six legs out very stable.  Ours were bought before they put wind shields on, but with suitcase stoves these are a must,  When using mine with a suitcase stove I clip the top shelf across the back to make a rear shield and drop the large side table to shield the side and turn the whole thing side to the wind.  Stove on lower shelf.  You will only fit one stove on top shelf.  As for the canvas cupboard I no longer bother with mine they are dark inside awkward to get in and zips are at the bottom also the shelves are cardboard.

Now as they have started fitting windshields they may have improved the cupboards as well so take a look for yourself. Mine are years old and I think they are great despite the cupboard.

We have this one from Riversway Leisure - Royal Aluminium Kitchen Stand 2folds down flat into its own carry bag, doesn't take up much space in the car, easy to put up and is very steady. We only paid £29.95 for it last year but that was on special offer.

Hi thanks for the reviews, I have trawled the internet this evening & will soon make a purchase!

It's great to hear that this is a useful piece of kit, unlike some of my (very) rash purchases last year! like the metal /  wire toast thingy which I could hardly put together & then couldn't balance bread then it didn't toast (rant, rant)

Anyway  thanks all for your advice!

Ikea do the rolls of tape that you can put on steps and things for kids not to slip. Its on a roll just like sellotape, so maybe that could be an option too.
