OK so we ahve realised the only reason we are looking at EHU is for heat when really cold (Daughter is 10 months so dont want her to freeze at easter) - we have booked an EHU for Easter but very tempted by smaller sites with no EHU - so thjinknig of a gas heater - we also have 3 dogs - but wouldnt have heater on with baby or dogs not in travelcot/crates - what would you recommend?? We have 2 of the bigger gas bottles for cooking - can any heaters use these?

Thanks so much :)

personally though I have no experience with gas heaters I would not risk taking one and using it in the tent, not with a baby and three dogs. Just my opinion though..

As I said it was just a consideration at the moment - also the dogs would be in their crates - under the beds and the baby would be in travel cot between the beds - the heater would only be on in the awning in the evening/morning if we were in there with it!

Don't use a gas heater with a flame in a tent.  They can give off Carbon Monoxide in addition to burning the tent down.  Not sure about the Black/Blue Cat heaters.  All of those with a burner are only for outdoor use.

Thanks Steve I have been doing alot of reading and most seems to suggest that under canvas is safer as well as being ok in a well ventilated tent - ie not advised to use in a tent with sewn in groundsheet etc - which we def dont have! would also tak e acarbon monoxoide detector thing too - thanks still gathering opinions and other ideas??
