Has anyone seen one of these yet?  It looks pretty good in the magazines, two burners but folds up to a similar size as a suitcase stove - which is what I'm using at the moment.

It seems to run on a special propane cylinder though, which I expect is more expensive and less widely available than the standard disposable butane cartridges.

Anyone seen one?

Very nice but not cheap and it only uses Coleman cartridges. I cant find a price for them but they only last an hour. I think I shall be sticking to my 2 suitcase stoves.

Just found the RRP for 2 canisters- £12.99!!

Didn't realise they'd only last an hour though - thats rubbish!!  The disposable butane ones last longer than that and only cost a couple of quid each.

Such a shame - it looks fab!!

Linky here to the website that says running time on full power 1hr 10m. I guess none of us are likely to boil stuff on 2 rings for that lengh of time but its still not very long lasting.  World of Camping is selling the cartridges 2 for £9.99. Its a nice space saving piece of equipment. Shame its so expensive to buy and expensive to run

We have the canisters in at work , but no stoves as yet

IF we get the stove I'll have to have a nosey at it

Looks an expensive way to cook though ; at £12.99 for 2 canisters !! Think I'll be sticking with the suitcase stove and Trangia

Boil time 6m 10 sec   x umpteen brews  canister only lasts 1h 10 Min's    2 canisters £9.99      I could die of thirst before I have my bacon buttie.

Either Coleman need to get this on to gas bottles or the cheaper canisters or it will end up next in line to the pyramid toaster as the most useless piece of equipment ever.

It was on the Gadget Show last night . Hardly a fair contest putting it up against the Cobb

I really hope we don't get the stoves in at work as we'll never shift them ! Too expensive to buy and too expensive to run !!

good job I read this post - was just about to buy one! ...

Has anyone found a similar but cheaper to run alternative?  I need to down size to a smaller stove (we have a blue camping gaz 2 ring) so am looking for a smaller 2 ring stove.. this one looked perfect until I read about the running costs!

Suggestions welcome!

Looks good but too pricey for my liking and cannisters that only last an hour are no good at that price

I'll stick with my suitcase stove

Saw them in GoOutdoors near Bath. Looks nice, but the 1 hr burn time on proprietary cannisters is just a no go.

The 1 hr burn time is rather misleading, as the stove is incredibly powerful (>5000 watts)
Even 'suitcase' type stoves will burn for only an hour or so on 1 cartridge, and they tend to be around 2,000w.

Also, propane carts have no gas flow drop off and as the stove has an in built regulator, you'll get full power right until the cart is empty.

1 hour at 5,000 watts cooks an awful lot of meals......

My advice : turn down the power!

.... It's a bit like complaining that your car uses a lot of fuel when you drive everywhere at 100 mph

Hi

i seem to be the only person to have bought and used one!

Never really had a stove before (even though camped for 5 years), the stove i have just gathers dust in the shed because i have always gone with folks who are more organised and like cooking etc!

really loved this bit of equipment though, i thought it cooked really fast and is very efficient.  As i said i am not cooking huge meals on it and normally pop out to eat but we used it over the bank holiday weekend with 4 adults and 3 children

think it will be quite  expensive to run though, especially if you are cooking breakfast, followed by other meals as we have already used one gas cannister from Friday to Sunday but looks great, is sturdy  and folds away really neatly.
