Can any one advise if this would be ok to use on a handirack? I'm worried about asking the seller in the event he'll say its fine just to get a sale.

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5336267448&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAR-ROOF-BAG-TRAVEL-BOX-RACK-SUITCASE-HOLDALL-CARGO_W0QQitemZ200331547940QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item200331547940&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

The handiholdall looks good but a tad expensive. Why would most roof bags be unsuitable?  I emailed a different company & he told me to only use his product on a roof cage or proper bars.

Do I need to just bite the bullet & get the handiholdall as it's specifically made for the inflateable bar?

I don't know to be honest, they look good, on the handiholdall the bottom is reinforced with metal rods to stop it sagging on to the roof. Not sure if these have that??

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Look closely at the picture, this holdall appears to sit on the roof of the car and is only secured to the roof bars.Surely fitting it this way would cause damage to the car paintwork??

i've never had a roof rack or have any idea what's ok & whats not to put on the roof. We wouldn't look to have anything too heavy on top - just bedding and maybe a few more bits & bobs to free space up in the boot. Would this still cause problems with my car roof?

I agree there could be some bevelling on the pic and I did notice the steel rods in the handiholdall.

If it was going to sit on my roof I wouldn't buy it to be honest, even slight rubbing movements could make a mess of the paintwork.

I think if you get the Handirack, you'll have to get the Handiholdall - I looked into this and that's why I decided to go for roof bars and a bag. The price is only slightly more than the Handi combo and you have the option of upgrading to a solid box in the future.

The Handirack is just inflatable so I wouldn't trust anything on it that isn't specifically designed for it. The bag I bought just has straps which can hook over the roof bars but I wouldn't trust on the Handirack - far too much give.

I don't think the Handiholdall actually touches your roof, so that isn't an issue.

I just fitted the Thule bars I bought and I'm amazed how solid they are once on...

thanks guys. Seeing as I was given the handirack as a present, I'll just get the handiholdall to be on the safe side. Other posts say they are happy with it, so I'll just save my pocket money for a few months!
