Hi.
While looking around I just noticed a single socket with 10m lead at Discount Towing £29.95 with free delivery.
Seems like a good deal.

problem is what happens if you get to a campsite where the power is more than 10 metres you can buy an extension cable from them for another thirty but it's probably wise to go for one that has 25metre cablr attached.

I agree with with Tricky I think you could have difficulties with just a 10 metre lead. 25 is the standard length supplied with caravans.

Hi we are selling ours. It's got a 25mtr cable with 3 sockets for 40.00 if you live anywhere near Tamworth staffs, it's as new. We have upgraded to a caravan so no need for it now.

Thanks for the replies.

Thank you for the offer Tasty Chef. We are on quite a tight budget, I think we may go for the mono lead and use an extension if necessary.

I haven't seen any selling for as low as £3, although I know the caravan leads can be picked-up quite cheaply.

Thanks.

Tumblemoon, I think you have missed the point. if the hookup point is more than 10m away from your tent, and you have to use an extension lead, the socket is going to be left lying outside on the grass. Not much point in buying it to have it lying outside in the rain ?
sometimes there is one post that has hookups for four or more tents , there is not always one hookup per pitch .

The tripkle ones were on sale in LIDL & ALDI last couple of years for around £30.

I see what you mean Beefysmum, the shorter lead isn't a problem for us as I will take the caravan lead to use as an extension. I'm guessing that it would be okay to use an extension lead within the tent should it be necessary to use multiple sockets.

It's funny isn't it how 10 metres measured in the house seems so much yet when it's outside in a field it doesn't seem much at all.

Thanks.

This is a less safe option than a 3-socket 25m one, tbh. The connecting joint is not 100% weatherproof unless enclosed in some sort of box (think of a car running over it, for example, or it getting bogged down in a puddle) and using an extension lead inside means more chance of water ingress due to condensation on unshielded sockets. Remember tents are damp places, prone to condensation and leaks. It's not like a nice dry house or even a caravan.

My opinion is this: Economise elsewhere, but get the best you can buy when it comes to using EHU in a tent. It's only £20 difference to buy the superior EHU..that's a case of beer and a bottle of wine, or a trip to the chippy for a family. You've got kids running around in this tent, yup? £20 for reducing the risk of one of them getting hurt, as far as is practical? I know what I'd choose....

Thanks for the reply Val.

I noticed that Waudbys have the triple socket lead for £39.

After the comments don't need to ask if this looks like the better deal!

Thanks.

Hi Tumblmoon, No problem, It was just a thought (i did forget to say ours is a Sunncamp one, not an unknown name one) and your right about 10m looking big in your house, we had a 10m one the first time we went camping we were miles away from the electric point, hence my hubby had to go out to the local camp shop and buy the longer one.

Good look in your search[:)]
