I have had a brilliant idea of using my George Foreman grill as well as my normal two ring burner. My one has a flat plate on the side as well to cook or heat stuff as well as the normal grill.
I have looked at its power use and its 2200w on full or 1800 on low, which i reckon is about a kettle's use.
I will probably have to turn anything else electrical off as well just to be safe.
Anyone else use one or is it yet another bulky thing that no one actually uses on a site (tent)
We used to have one in the caravan , though we didn't use it much, but I've never been that keen on them. I think we didn't use it at home so put it in the caravan , and didn't use it there either, lol If you like using it at home though , why not, could be very handy if its too wet to bbq.
i use that and yes dont use it while electric kettle on, i also take sandwich toastie and microwave, and not just because we have now got caravan, but i did this also when we went tenting hahahha

------------- I Think Therefore I Am I Think? eh? If all is not lost where is it?
We have a similar thing - a flat plate grill and use it all the time. Its great for cooked breakfasts, chops, steak etc and stops the inside of the campervan from stinking of cooking! We also bought one of the one-ring fold up gas cookers and use that as well. We only ever cook in the van if going away in the winter weather now (even though we have a cooker inside), BBQ, grill, gas hob, £3 toaster from tescos, all gets done in awning (not bbq'ing, that's done outside). It also give a more "camping" feel I think - mad or what?
We use our George Foreman grill lot in our van. We do have to turn most of the electrical items off but it's well worth it. I always do bacon on it as it takes forever under the grill. It also saves on the gas supply.
we use ours in the tent. i have a small one for camping and a large one at home. i dont use it much at home now as its easier just to switch oven on. but i use it evryday when camping. just dont boil the kettle at the same time. we did, first time we used it and tripped the leccy. but i think it was only a 10 amp site.
Iv'e got the one with the flat plate too,I can make a whole breakfast on it,I absolutly love it.I do make sure no other heating type appliance on at same time. It makes excellent toasted sandwiches too ,so you don't need to take an extra sandwich toaster. I really wouldn't be without mine.
------------- Tent ,Trailer Tent,Camper, Caravan.Iv'e tried them all.
Variety is the spice of life.
We use our George in the caravan its great and as others have said saves the gas. We dont have an oven in our van we use a micro oven bought for £20 in Discover. It makes the best Jacket spud in the world.
