Campsite we are soon visiting insists on a 25m cable.  Other than E-bay I can't seem to find one ANYWHERE!!

Can anyone please recommend a safe (with RCD) cable of that length?  Don't really care how many sockets - the length is more important.

Thanks

Go Outdoors have the triangular one for £49.50 which in my opinion is better than the long one.

I think most people haven't read what the OP requested, none of the ones suggested have a 25m lead.
I think the campsite requiring a 25m lead are asking for that length as that is the recommended minimum for a caravan hookup,I couldn't find a camping one with RCD with more than a 20m lead,I suggest a phone call to the site explaining the situation.

I know this is an old thread but I am also after a 25 metre EHU lead. I can only find 20 metre ones online, go outdoors have one which is 20 metres. The caravan and camping club recommend having a 25 metre hook up due to some pitches being far away from the electric, a friend also advised to get the longest one possible so as not to be struggling at the campsite. Please advise.

Thanks

A standard caravan hook up acts as an extension for a tent hook up. If you have a 20m tent one then orchard a 10m caravan hook up and you have 30m. Make sure its a proper caravan hook up cable that is 16 amp rated. So many cheap cable and plugs on the market!

I have never seen an EHU with a 25 metre cable although they may exist. The majority have 20 metres and some only have 15 metres.

Mine is 20 metres and I have only once been short of the hook up post and that was on a site which was in the process of extending their EHU pitches and hadn't yet installed enough posts. They were aware of this however and lent me an extension cable. Normally I have loads of cable spare to secrete behind the tent.

If you feel you may need longer than 20 metres then buy a 10 metre extension cable. It would be a poor site that had it's hook up posts more than 30 metres from the pitch.

I modified my EHU so that it does not have a cable attached to it anymore, this makes life easier as I do not need to pull the whole cable through the small a zipped electric entry point on the tent.

We now carry caravan type electric cables of various lengths, 10m 15m and 20m.

Should the need arise we could be upto 45m from the electric bollard no problem.

As an extra safety measure we have 2 of the crusader red connector protectors, which prevent tampering of the joining, and add waterproofing.

Check out my "EHU Modification" post for more info if required.

If you are going to have a plug and socket outside the tent, you may want to consider one of these.

We modified our EHU to have a short cable from the sockets and separate 20 and 10 metre extensions. On the odd occasion when we have needed both leads, the box provides a more weatherproof connection and also discourages some of the more mischievous amongst the camping fraternity from unplugging the lead whilst you're out and switching off the coolbox.

Edit: Just noticed Francais beat me to it!

Thanks for the replies

I will more than likely go and buy the 20m one from go outdoors, should suffice, I will only go on good sites anyway. There seems you can't get all the plugs in on the go outdoors EHU due to design of the plug sockets... maybe they're all like it. Can anyone recommend a better one?

Thanks

According to the regs the EHU point shouldn't be more than 20m from any point on the pitch in the UK.
