I am sorry but I cannot find my original thread concerning the above subject but thanks to all who gave advice on how to separate "Stackapads".

I have taken your advice and found that they can easily be clipped together and then separated by firstly removing the small ridge on the upper rim BEFORE locking them together.  The rim can be removed with the use of a Stanley Knife or file.  If the pads are clipped together without removing the rim, then it seems to be impossible to separate them without causing damage to the pad.
