Just a word on petrol - absolutely right that unleaded will block the generator eventually, but alkalate petrol will not as it has no additives.

Please do not adjust your mind... there is a fault in reality

SteveMcV has said it all pretty much there.

One other oddity about the Trangia, they work better in the wind! It's true!
If you are in a hurry, face the holes in the lower wind shield into the wind and the flame will increase in strength.
Don't know of any other liquid fuelled stove that has that peculiarity.

And one word of warning.
The flame on a meths stove is practically invisible in daylight. Be careful and NEVER attempt to refuel a Trangia unless the burner is cool enough to lift in your hand,(only way to be certain).

Are we there yet?

I noticed that, the more wind, the more flame. They go like a blast furnace.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
