I have just bought a wilko electric coolbox, but have just realised it can only be plugged in with a car lighter plug. Can I get an adapter to plug into normal 3pin for my EHU.
Only reply if you actually have used one, As I must be sure it is safe.

Yes, we have an adaptor you can get them from Halfords but I'm sure you can get them from camping shops and other places too, ours didn't cost this much! Price hike for summer I guess.

I have found this one..... But am unsure what this means "Caution: before use, ensure the appliance you are plugging in to the cigarette lighter socket does not draw a current of more than 1 amp".    Does anybody know if I will be able to plug a coolbox into it.

I would steer clear of those from Maplin we tried one and it just melted with the current draw. The original ones you looked at are the best however I notice on the latest Camperlands advert that they have a Kampa variant for around a £5 I think (£10 off) might be worth a look. www.camperlands.co.uk

Hi, we bought a cheaper version (sorry, can't remember what make) and it melted when we left it on all night,we then went and bought the Halfords one and it has worked fine for the last 3 years (we paid 19.99 for ours).

Hope this helps with your decision.

Umm...the Lidl coolbox from last year came with a mains adaptor cable as well, for a total price of £29.99. So if anyone is thinking about going down the coolbox route it might be worth waiting for Lidl to do another camping week?
