I am looking to buy either the camping chef plus which comes with a stand and the double burner stove with a grill underneath or alternative the camping kitchen extra which comes with a stand that has the zip compartment and then the double burner stove and griddle sits on top.  Basically from peoples experiences which is the best one?????

Wouldn't bother with the grill - it doesn't work well enough. Better off with one of those Gelert toast rack things.

The grills are not great on any ive tried , the fold flat toaster (not pyramid style) is far better .

My sister brought the one on the stand with the griddle last weekend, and it cooked very well , bacon sausage and burgers were all cooked quickly and not greasy. It came in handy when the bbq had lost its heat and there were still a few burgers left to cook , so would be a good alternative bbq too.
the only thing that would put me off it was that the legs have wingnuts to attach the rack underneath it, and have to be taken off to pack away. Not long to assemble it though .
other than that it seemed stable and saves getting a seperate kitchen stand . On offer at world of camping atm.

The problem with the griddle is that you do not have a ring to brew up on. I need loads of coffee in the morning so this is definitely a problem.

The griddle just sits on top of the 2 rings, so you can boil kettle first and then cook breakfast on griddle.

beleive me those rings get well hot.

(looking at fingers for the memory)

the griddle is great but only when water is put in as stated. stops flair ups

the wingnuts for the shelf are stored in  a compartment of the bag.

One daft thing i see. for the fabric compartment i that it is turned inside out to put the now dirty stove away for travel. therefore when you next use it the outside is now dirty.

we use this and bought a suitcase stove incase we needed a ring.

I was looking at buying the 'Campingchef plus', however after viewing some excellent photos of UKCS kitchen set ups, I realised that I wouldn't be able to have a nice compact kitchen arrangement with the stove sitting atop a table with built in storage and shelves around.

Needless to say, I went for the Camping Chef pouch with the grill underneath and will either take a small toaster or wire rack ensemble for toast and cook the bacon the 'proper' way in a frying pan - mmm!

If you have EHU and the space, yoou could always use a 'George Foreman' style griddle or griddle pan on the stove, but lets face it - the 'snorkers' always taste better on a charcoal barbeque anyday!

I used to take one in the caravan, and a breville toasty sandwich maker and it was okay as long as you don't use the kettle/heater/ toaster at the same time .

We love our double burner with grill. And although the grill might not be great, it's fantastic at melting cheese on toast...

I know a lot of people criticise the grills, but I've always found them OK - not brilliant, but OK!

Well we have a toaster anyway, but you can't melt cheese with it... The grill did it just perfectly.
