There is lot of good advice here ( particularly from Tentz ) but I think we have language and safety problems.

Would it not be safer to take everything to local caravan dealers for advice ? Most of them are pretty knowledgeable.

I'm guessing the op is on a bit of a budget here but looking at his bulkhead regulator I would think it would be a good idea to at least replace the rubber pipe & pigtails. The rubber pipes should be marked with yr of manufacture, 5yrs old & they should be replaced, I think.

For those who suggested to swap the existing pigtails for butane clip-on pigtails, what happens with the regulator?

The one in that picture appears to be a propane only regulator.

I would have thought it would have been easier for the OP to swap the 7kg butane bottles for 6kg propane bottles?

hi
i tried to answer all of the questions:
my caravan is only for summer use, so butan gas should me ok?I know that if i go to calor supplier they will swap the bottle for me. but the problem is 2 of them are nearly full and the third one is half full. so it will be little waste to give them these bottles i should empty it for swap, or buy on ebay empty bottle.
dave's what you mean language and safety problems? it's pretty simple, buy a propan bottle and put in the caravan.
tent'z i will try to check if ruber pipes need to be changed. my caravan is from 1996 so i think it's not so bad, but i think i will go for local dealer to have look(on the brakes as well because my astra 1.7cdti had some problems to tow the caravan [it's 1000kg MAW]maybe it's too havy, but i tow a caravan with 850 MAW and was OK)
Rockford i think i will to that swap butan for propan.
thanks!

Rockford..bulkhead regulators can usually be used with both butane & propane...

xwiewiurx..All you need to do is buy 2 21mm clip pigtails as in earlier link & you can use your existing butane bottles. The clip pigtails will replace your existing pigtails & it would also be advisable to replace thinner rubber gas pipe as well. If you are going to the dealer get him to check if your bulkhead regulator is suitable for butane.

If it is not no probs because one of your bottles has a butane regulator attached so that can be connected directly, bypassing the bulkhead regulator.

Your car will tow 1000kg, no probs.

Is there any writing on the red regulator?
I'm just wondering if it will actually work with butane (if you wanted to do this). There should be a reading on it like 30mbar or 37mbar... What does it say?

In fact using the bottle top regulator will be your cheapest option. You just connect it directly with a length of rubber gas pipe & jubilee clips to where the thin pipe from your bulkhead regulator connects at the bottom end.

i have been in service. they said that my propan regulator (that red one in caravan) works only with propan gas. so i will sell my butan gas and buy a propan, i think it will be good price and i don't have to pay to much extra money to buy a propan bottle. I don't chave a choice now? Or i missed something? they advise me to change the pigtails because they are very old, so i will do that as well.
if i have just 1 bottle can i use it or must be 2?
