Hi all, I was given a 4.5Kg Calor Cylinder a while back that had a regulator with it, this was screwed straight onto the bottle but there is no tap to turn it off, am I missing a bit? as in THIS picture? there is the tap part which is screwed onto the bottle then the regulator is screwed to that. hope this makes sense and someone can help.
Regards
Gary

You use the vavle on top of the cylinder to trun it on and off. Possibly the top of the valve is missing if you dont have that part.

The valve is part of the bottle on Calor cylinders.

Are you sure it is Calor gas? Camping gaz has no valve on the cylinder, it has the valve in the regulator.

If it is Calor & the valve has been removed somehow, I think the company would want to know why as they own the cylinder, you merely rent it from them. Camping Gaz, you "buy" your first full one & they swap you a full one when empty.

Nope, as I say it is part of the cylinder. Try taking it back to a dealer, but I guess they would want to know how & why it was modifired, as it still belongs to the company. Do you have a photo? maybe it is a really old one?

If its this type of regulator the is no valve on the bottle to turn it on & off its done by the securing knob on the side, this is known as the clip on one

------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.

They aren't on the 4.5Kg cylinders though, only the larger Calor bottles. Why is there no standard fitting?
