Try Self adhesive Velcro but make sure you apply to a very dry and clean surface - other than just a little more care when entering the tent I suppose - or try throwing a doormat down.

Be very careful though using velcro the backing on some of these carpets is very thin and when you take the carpet up your left with patches still attached to the ground sheet or it may tear if the carpet slips from experience.

Try rolling the carpet the other way when you pack it so that it curls under rather than upwards, this way it should lay flat and then throw a few non slip rug patches under it to stop it moving about. Lastly are you sure you have the right carpet for the tent, it should fit snugly to the shape of the ground sheet?

Sorry Simon W not knocking your idea just learnt the hard way !!

Im not saying it will tear but the foil backing may do as it is sometimes quite thin depending on the make of the carpet and tent, only a warning not a sure thing.

The non slip mats you can get from most hardware stores they come in different sizes and are a rubber type of material that stops rugs slipping on hard floors.  You dont need one the size of the carpet just a few squares where its most likely to move.

Dont have a link im afraid but your local focus or B&Q should do them or any carpet shop.

I'm a bit puzzled as to how you can trip over the edge of the carpet? doesn't it fit the living area completely?

Ours fitted from edge to edge with only a gap of a couple of inches each side the other two edges fitted exactly to the bedroom pods.
Are you tripping over it at the side entance doors? If so a rubber doormat will keep it in place.

the non slip matting as mentioned above , you can get in poundland, instore , places like that. it comes on a roll about 12inches wide .

Its the bit I was confused about beefysmum ? All the carpets I have seen fit the tent snugly which is why I asked if they have been sold the correct carpet ? The only reason we used the gripper mats in our vango was that the carpet slipped on the groundsheet when the dog came charging in and things went flying. He is still as boisterous but the carpet dont slip now !!!

What make and model of tent is it samseed ?
