Just got back from a camping trip where I took my new extension for my minny 4, only to find that the 2 straps that attach the top to the centre poles  were not long enough, Short by a good 12 INCHES even when fully extended. Anybody else had a similar problem ? Seems to me it would be a strange thing for just one to have this fault.  Had to use lengths of guy rope to tie it on as a temp. measure.

I got a problem of pitching up the extension myself The strap manage to reach the center pole
after lots of hussel bcos i'm a bit short. But after completing it,the extension does not look right with one side rather tight compare to the other. I am hoping if someone cud explain the correct/best method of pitching it or any video from outwell really helps

Hi rhizbi,  the extension looked fine when it was up, it was just that the 2 roof straps were,nt long enough, .  .  been out today and bought a length of webbing and replaced both straps, and left plenty of adjustment, this would probably help you if you,re a bit short.    Seems nobody else has a fault with there extension..

I didn't receive any straps with my Minny 4 Extension to attach to the centre poles! When I questioned this with Yeomans they sent me some guy ropes which I'm sure wasn't correct. Anyway, I used some webbing from elsewhere to make straps and it seems OK now.
It seems Outwell's quality control isn't as good as it should be and this sort of thing leads to frustration when buying camping equipment.

Hi Rich, Like me, you decided to fix the problem yourself, rather than take it back and (possibly) take home another problem. Can I ask you, did you use "hooks" to attach your straps to the centre poles, and if so, where did you get them ?

Yeomans provided me with the hooks when they gave me the guy ropes. They said that the extension comes with guy ropes rather than straps to attach to the centre pole. I didn't think this was correct as pictures that I have seen on here show straps, therefore I improvised and made my own, so it works OK now.
I have seen the hooks on sale at camping shops so you should be able to buy them separately.

Cheers Rich, . . . . I actually wanted the 2 hooks for something else, so I,ll take a look round in the near future. You are correct with regard to there being straps to attach to the centre poles, NOT guy ropes,  Shame on yeomans for trying to fob you off with that. . . . . Happy campin.
