They haven't had a sleep over with friends have they or.................failing that were they both particularly cold on the last outing and may have emmmmmm mislaid them in the hope of having to buy new, warmer ones? (Just a suggestion   )

I lost one of mine for a couple of months once, finally found it on the guest bed, under the bottom sheet, acting as a fleece.  Not sure how you can lose 3 that way though...
