We have just purchased a waterproof lamp of the UK campsite shop thingy.  It is mains / car rechargable and has batteries and is remote control.  Haven't tried it out yet (next week) but went in the airing cupboard with it and it gave off loads of light.

You were asking about recharging in your earlier post ..was this the lamp or the car battery?  The car battery will recharge itself once the engine is running.  The lamp if plugged into the ciggie lighter will either run off the car battery or charge it up depending if its switched on or not.

Hope this helps

Linz n Rich

just wondered if its just me but don't you think the rechargeable ones are very heavy ??? I looked at these lanterns in Halfords but the light hook in tent would strain with these hung on them.
