We love our Gelert double-alu table, its just the right size.  However, eating at it with our camping chairs is really uncomfortable as they are too low.

I haven't managed to find anything high enough, yet small enough to use with it, so now we are contemplating gettng another one of those tables with the stools attached - but that would mean ditching the double table through space restrictions.

What setup does everyone use for eating?

I use a table like yours, which was a Lidl offer a few years back , and have just purchased four Lafuma director chairs in tweed to match the table. Right hight for the kids also .

You could get some Lafuma CNO chairs, they are a good height for sitting at the table, have a good seating position (most camping chairs we have tried are either too low or too saggy), are very light and fold down to a very compact size. I can highly recommend them.

I've got a high up 3-legged camping stool which I perch on as I have dodgy hips and the low chairs are a bit of an effort sometimes, and like you say, too low for the table.

However call me a pikey but when it comes to mealtimes I tend to just eat off my lap, we are on holiday after all :D

Hi

I agree we are on holiday - but find eating off my lap in such a low chair has some downsides...

1. indigestion

2. I end up spilling things down my front!

3. Its hard to eat and drink at the same time

The lafuma chair looks good... wonder if they do a stool version?

Hi

Not the answer your looking for possibly but having had the same problem we hunted around and found a Royal table that has 2 stage adjustable legs that extend so you can have the table at full hight when not being used for eating at but when you do you just push the small button on each leg and the table drops down to the perfect hight for our standard hight folding chairs.

Yep, they do, it's called the Lafuma PH.

We like the Lafuma CNO chairs too. They are great for sitting around a table and they are actually quite comfy for leaning back on too.

We have a couple of Lafuma adjustable height tables so it's hard to say whether the chairs would be high enough for your particular table. They do seem to be a good table sitting height.

Just a quick update... we finally ended up buying the Easycamp Antibes stool - at 45cm tall it is about 5cm taller than most of the stools we tried at camping shops, and best of all Yeomans had them on offer, so we got 4 for £20 including next day delivery.

Now just have to hope they are strong enough for my fat behind!
