This is just one of many threads about Delta ground anchors (pegs); a lot of folk (like me) are impressed...

Deltas for the guys and we use rock pegs for the tent and only those rubbish ones that come with for pegging out the ground sheet.

Those diamond steel (??) ones in the little black or green cases are good.

We have a big holdall full of all sorts of different pegs as you never know what the ground is going to be like.

There have been some great peg threads on here so do a search and have a read of them all (well maybe not all as it would take you a few months to get through them)

We use plastics ones like the red ones shown here:

http://www.wilmond.co.uk/acatalog/Tent_Pegs.html

They are cruciform (X shaped) in section. We bought ours from camping shops a few years ago, paying considerably more than this. Only found this website recently and the prices are really good

Never had any problems with them. They don't bend, only managed to damage the head of one whilst hammering into stoney ground. they also don't rust and wash quite easily.

Rock pegs, simple very strong and do the job where ever you camp just one word of advice don't bother spending the extra for the glow in the dark ones as the sun fades them within a few trips so just not worth the extra money, or is that just me being a sad "oh gotta have them" gimmick freak !!!

Delta pegs on the guys are also a good move but be warned you can get carried away and end up with a rather large and heavy peg bag.

We use delta pegs for the guys, and they are as good as people say. We just use the normal pegs for the restt of the tent but are concidering investing in some other ones.
