That's because the zipped tunnel extension is intended for use on the SIDE door of a tunnel tent like the Tigris, Yukon or Oregon, not the front.
See here.... it quite clearly states that the fabric flap goes over the tent and pegs out at the other side.
Basically the two canopies with the long tails fit onto the side of a tunnel tent and the flap goes over the roof. ie the Tunnel Extension and the Tunnel Canopy.
