Like most I use both Calor and Campingaz cylinders. It's confusing to figure out how much is left because Calor stamp the weight of their bottle in lbs & ozs and then put in 4.5 kilos of gas whereas those metric French put in 2.72 kilos of gas because it equates to exactly 6 lbs!

Anyway, I currently have empty and full Campingaz 907's. Just for the hell of it I weighed them both. The empty was 3.8 kgs but the "full" was only 6.1!!!! Now even my rudimentary maths can figure out that the difference is 2.3 kgs and not 2.72 kgs which is exactly what it says on the tin. A shortfall of about 15%.

Before I call in Weights & Measures has anyone else seen this?

Have you considered that the tare weights of each cylinder will be different, even as much as 20%?...

Yes. But 20%? Do Campingaz stamp their cylinders with the unit weight like the Calor collars? I had a look but couldn't find anything like 3.8 kgs on it.

It's stamped on the base, in kilograms. There are a few numbers there, but it's the only number that looks like it could be a weight. :)
