Sorry to blah on about this again. I've waded through a lot of the threads on this subject and basically got no further in making a decision.

We need a portable gas barbeque, suitable for cooking for 6 on. I've looked up Cadacs but they almost all look the same. Any suggestions of make and where to get one quickly (meet in two weeks!!! :) :) :)

Thanks

The Thermos "Fire & Ice" looks the dog's nadgers and you can pick them up from B & Q for around £150 - they're the ones with a coolbox in the base and fold up flat for transporting.  You can also detach the top cooking area and use it on its own.  They may be a bit too large/expensive for your requirements though - just a thought.

Drat - B and Q had no gas barbeques at all. Now my husband thinks we don't need a really massive one - so any one which will cook enough for 6 people.

Thanks anyway topdazzle

In that case I would try the small portable one in Halfords for £14.99 (complete with lava rock) - this should cope with 6 easy enough (albeit in several "waves") - I bought one of these and can thoroughly recommend it - there's 5 of us and it's spot on.

I would definitely recommend the Beauclaire. Powder coated (non-rust) cast iron plates, stove-enamelled paella pans (which can be used for all sorts of stir fries etc too) are available plus a full range of accessories.

I have the twin-burner model and the centre burner is also the right size for a standard steel wok to be used. I wouldn't be without it and I can cook for 6 on it no problem!

Look at the site below - the family pack cooks for 6, the large pack (which I use) cooks for up to 10.

Hope this helps.

If you are interested I'll sell you my large Beauclaire which I bought in April and is too big for me.  It's the one advertised on offer for £149.50.  I'll sell mine for £85 complete.  It comes with the paella pan and is as new.  I've only used it three times.

Robbie - yes, I'm very interested - but how can I get it??? It's the school holidays and I have 7 kids to look after. Where are you located? Here's my e-mail

lorrainew@dsl.pipex.com

been to the shops and seen a 'copy' of the beauclaire which is a PAELLERO on special for £99 but it has no lid and hubby insists we need a lid. Also a camoing gaz two burner thingy - hmmmmm - even after loads of research and advice and looking in the shops I still don't know what is best. I'm wondering if there is a UNI which offers a camping degree I could enroll in.
