Anyone have any opinion on the camping stuff that Aldi sell?

Is it any good?

I ask because it looks like they are having a "focus" on camping equipment this Thursday 11th June 2009 http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/offers_week24thursday09.htm

ALDI stuff is always good.  In the rare event of a problem, their after sales is superb too

Bought a few items of Aldi kit over the years

the table, bought about 4 years back and it is fine, occasinally nips your skin as you are putting it together

I bought self inflating mats at the same time, did me ~3 years, but the outerskin material doesn't seem to be attached to the foam inner anymore. The foam twisted inside the matress and so when you inflate the thing the outerskin bulges and so does not make for a comfortable nights sleep. Since bought Fat Airic as a replacement

the rucksacks - 4 years still going, lots of pockets and compartments in the ones we have

got the kitchen stand last summer, I think it takes up too much room in the tent for the storage it gives us - will likely freecycle it

the rugs are ok

happy shopping

W

We got a coolbox last year that runs off bothe 12v and mains.  This one is described just as 12v but might be worth checking whilst there.  Brilliant one if it's like ours would recommend.

We took the kitchen stand back - 2 clips broke whilst being put up first time and a nearlly took hubbys finger with them.

Rugs are great.

the storage units look like our sunncamp only the price is much better..  they do take a bit of putting together though so better for longer stays.

WE did but the clothers airer .. found it unstable so took it back.

airbeds.. I'd be tempted to give these a miss.

Generally the Aldi quality is very good, but nothing beats going having a good look.

I liked the look of the foldable hammock and I am looking for a cool box for the awning if this one runs off the mains it might do the job.
