We recently bought a 12v/230v coolbox which is similar, although not sure if the Aldi one can be converted to mains, and it cools to approx 20 degrees below ambient. Think this is pretty much standard for this type of box if that's any help?
Hi Mudmonster, bought one very similar from Aldi a couple of years ago,and i must say i have had no problems at all.I only use mine for keeping the beers cool, but it is running all summer. The one i got is mains or 12v. Well worth the money.
This year's model is different to older ones. I've had one two years and it is great, but it is 12v or 230v and the leads came with it - this years seems to be 12v only so you would need to get a separate adaptor if you want to use it on mains - these cost about £18 from Halfords.

we purchased this cool box last year from aldi and they are brill .we put it on in car with adaptor for cigarette lighter and then it goes on electrics in awning.they are £5 dearer this year but i would say they are still good value for money.i think they have a long guarantee as well
I have just come back from Aldi & their coolbox is both 12v DC & 240v AC

I’m not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!
I love my Aldi coolbox, I won't tell you how much I got it for, it was that much of a bargain!!!! Oh ok, it was £10 from ebay with £8 p&p at the end of last year from a seller who seemed to sell pallet loads of left over Aldi products, not sure if some were returns, but my coolbox has been absolutely brill, even partly freezing some stuff it was that cold (the coolbox) at Easter.
