Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'm looking for somebody to repair my Honda EU20i generator. Initially it was smoking and I took it into a Honda garden machinery place to be fixed but they kept it for months and when I eventually had to go and get it from them I found that they had damaged the flywheel by trying to take it off with a hammer and they did not seem to have a clue what to do next. I have taken my generator away from them in a box of bits and I need to find somebody competent to finish repairing it and sort out the damage done by the garden machinery people. Any recommendations. I have heard that there is supposed to be someone really good in Nottingham but I can't find them.

I think you have an issue with the firm you went to that trading standards may be interested in.  I feel a court case coming on...

I'd just sue them in the small claims court, why go to trading standards?

Did you mean these? Don't know them, but I just googled "Honda generator Repair Nottingham"

'cos if there is a pattern, they may save you the hassle of taking out the case.

OK, threaten to sue them

Steve, you have more faith in Trading Standards than I have, but the proof of the pudding etc etc

But I wouldn't have taken the bits of generator away in the first place, they had a contract, it was up to them to send it to Seddons (or somebody else) to repair the damage at their expense.

This maybe helpful under EEC law of which there are far too many , there is a little known one that basically means EVERYTHING HAS A 2 YEAR GUARANTEE, now most retailers are not going to tell you this as they want to sell you an expensive warranty some also 'give' a 2 yr guarantee, advertised in such away as they are doing you a favour!!
