This is my first post. Just after some advice. We are camping next week and looking for a stand for the stove to sit on. Anyone know of anything sturdy but cheap (ish) and easy to get hold of?  Have 2 children and need to keep things safe!

You need a camp kitchen do a search on Towsureor CCCoutdoors on CCC outdoors they have one for £25. Don't know how cheap you want? I don't think putting a cooker on the table a good idea, what do you use for the kids to eat off if your using the table to cook on?
Try your local camping caravan shop & they might have one, a decent one is sturdy & will outlast your camping days.

there are quite a few different ones around - this one from wildday.com:-

which is £15.19 plus p&p

this one from Towshure

Kitchen Standwhich is £17.50 plus p&p

this one from ccc.outdoors.com

which is £25.00 plus p&p

All of the above are pretty much the same & are fairly sturdy, however, personally I would get one with a windshield for the extra £5.00 it would cost

I would advise u not to buy this one if u have  kids ,our stove dosnt 'sit' on it very well as it has a raised bar in the middle ,altho we found if we used 2 plastic tie straps it was ok

WE have the one from CCC outdoors. My hubbie bought it on a whim which I chided him for but I am afraid I have had to eat my words as it was really great on holiday in France. There was loads of storage space underneath too.

How sturdy, on a scale of 1 to 10, is the one from CCC outdoors anyone?

I have one like the one from CCC Outdoors, it was £25 from Index Littlewoods. It is pegged into the ground and we find it really sturdy and safe and I would not cook without it. It folds down quite flat into its own carboard box too. The windshield is excellent. Therefore I would give it 10/10.

We  had  one  like  the  one  ccc.outdoors  is  selling ,   I  found  the  legs  kept getting  caught  up  in  each  other ,   i  paid  about  £25  for  it  in a  camping  shop,  but  last  september  i  was in  asdas  in  watford  and they  were  selling camp  kitchens off (and  a  lot  more  sturdy then  the  one  we  had ) for  £9.99 from  £25  .          I  snaped  it  up  and  was  so  pleased  with  it  after  i   got  it  home  i went  back  to  get  another as they  have  clips  on to  clip  them  together,

But  by  the  time  i  got  back  to  the store  they  had  completly  sold  out  even  the  display  model.    It  even  has  a  carrying handle  for  when  its  folded flat.

Well, Blow me down!  We found a couple of bargains today - went to Halfords and found a kitchen stand just like the one at CCCOutdoors for only £22.50 reduced from £30!  And in Millets found a green picnic table (table with four seats that fold up into it) reduced to £20 from £30 - Great day!!
