Just wanted to check before running out which pans anyone using a Coleman Dual fuel double burner might recommend. A friend told me they would probably use normal kitchen pans as the cooker i have gives it a proper burn and may well melt camping pans.
So is it just a case of getting some cheap non-stick affairs from tesco?
We use one made by JML, but they no longer make them :o( it is a little too big, but we just use two big metal clips to hold in place, I know that Argos sell griddle plates :o)

.......
Friends eh?
Given that the flame strength on the Coleman stove can be adjusted, there is no reason to think that you cannot use any pan type you would normally use at home ... or, for that matter, on any other camping stove.
I burnt the coating off a non-stick camping frying pan on the coleman (my mistake for having the flame too high - but it happened FAST!), so last time I just took a cheap frying pan from the supermarket - worked a treat! Cheaper than the camping pans, too (but they do take up more space...)
When I need to replace the camping pans - a cheap set of pans will do me nicely! More expensive pans with thick bases may not heat through properly because of the reduced heat from the coleman compared to an installed hob - but this is just an assumption!
I've had a go with it now and the cheapo frying pan from tesco worked a treat. I used a thick based saucepan for some veg and that was ok although it struggled to get up to heat on the auxiliary burner. I couldn't seem to get the same oomph into it on that side.
Took me a while to suss this out. Is there a knack to getting the most out of the 2nd burner? Stuggled to light it at first.
We've been using a tefal camping set since 2004 and they have been fine on the Coleman - they aren't non stick which might help with their longevity.
They are just starting to die as the handles are starting to break, I'm tempted by some of the Tefal Ingenio pans like this but in France you can buy a set that aren't non stick. Has anyone tried them?
I use a normal tefal frying pan which works great, other pans are just nonstick camping set & they've been fine.
For a griddle plate I used the removable plates from a sandwich/grill toaster, the ones I had were a good fit they've just got past it now as they are very old & the surface is gone, I think I may look for something similar again as most of the proper plates do seem to be too big & a bit pricey. It may be worth looking out for a cheap party grill/toaster just to rob the plates.
