A wetsuit that is too big does not work, they have to fit close to your body to trap a layer of water which is then heated by your body.
If the suit is loose it just fills with cold water and will rub the skin as it moves which is probably why she is getting an irritation.
You can wear a rash vest under the suit but this only helps the top half.
We have been changing our girls suits every year and trade in the old suits for a new one.I have been using a wetsuit for many years with water skiing, jet skiing and now body boarding on holiday and have always made sure they fit good to be effective

Slightly off topic, I'm a wetsuit wearer, male, and I have been unable to find a suit that zips at the front. Sometimes, I just want to unzip the front, and not have to take it off. (that's where being a male is easier than being a female) ! Also I use mine for kayaking, and it can get a bit hot inside, so if the zip were in the front, I could at least zip it down to let some fresh air in. Are all the new suits back ziped, or am I just looking in the wrong places.
Cheers Bob
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Bob, I haven't seen a wetsuit that zips at the front for years and years! Wear a rash vest and just unzip it and roll it down!!

Bit of advice please.
We live up North and we are going to Cornwall this summer. Do we buy wetsuits down there, or will it work out cheaper to get them before we go? Also my son is very thin, do I get a suite for his age or chest size?
Thanks Pam & Co
buy them down there, loads cheaper and more choice
unless you can pick up a second hand one on ebay
go by your sons measurements, and get him to try a few on

Cheers Bob The place i use for all my surfing gear is Anns cottage surf shop, i have seen zip up at the front wet suits on their site, i always wear a rash zest under my wet suit whether its winter or summer, it will stop it rubbing.
