1. The guy rope goes around the "nail" underneath the plastic bit, it shouldn't slip off.
2. Don't bang them in so far. Use a claw hammer to get them out, placing the claw between the top of the nail and the plastic bit - if you stick it under the plastic bit it could break it off.
