Looking to buy a camping stove with grill.  Can't make up my mind between the Gelert double burner with grill or the Campingaz Chef.  If anyone has either of these please let me know what you think to them.  Thanks

Hi helen I would say get a toaster like this and double burner without grill. the grills are not very efficient on any of the stoves , and save yourself £20.

Thanks for that.  Most people had negative things to say about the grills on both.  Further reading alerted me to look at the Coleman duel fuel 2 double burner, which I hadn't looked at before.  How would you rate that compared to the Camingaz and Gelert?

Hi - I have the Campingaz Camping Chef with grill.  The manual says not to use the grill at the same time as the burners are being used.  I think this is partly as there isn't enough pressure to get enough gas to both the grill and the burners.

Plenty of people (me inc.) use the grill at the same time as the burners and hence the grill seems to be not very efficient.

As has been pointed out, if yopu can't use the grill proerlyat the same time as the burners then there is no point having it - you can simply user a toaster rack on the burners, and just get a double burner without grill.

I like having the option of the grill though having said all the above.

Amazon had the Campingaz 2 burner + grill for 33 pounds,, and a few pence with free delivery. I had looked at quite a lot of web sites and that price, delivered, looked pretty good to me.

How is it that one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

We have a camping gaz stove and we think the grill is fine. Ok its not like the one on your cooker at home but its an improvement on the folding toaster (yes we have one!)

Hi guys,

Quick one from a newbie - anyone bought the Gelert Double Burner with Piezo and lid recently??? Asking as I purchased one Brand New off Ebay and when searching on internet for gas etc came across a rather weird but concerning page detailing the recall of the stove - notification from the Netherlands, wasn't sure if its true or indeed EU wide, looked on Trading Standards at the recalls and it didn't come up and phoned Gelert who said there were no known issues. But being a first time camper with 2 young children I am v paranoid and don't want to go up in flames - have already experienced a similar scenario once in Greece and it was a tad unpleasant!!!
