Evening all!

I've just pulled out the camping box to start to get
ready for our holiay next week.

I brought a new Gelert double burner with grill for
our last trip (last bank holiday).

Here's the problem(s)-

The piezo ignition has totally stopped working on
the right hand ring.

The gas inlet elbow has come loose. I can't get into
the unit to tigten it because the metal panels are
secured by rivets!

So....

Do I take it back to the store, with no receipt and
ask them to replace it. It's only been used for a
weekend trip and it's less than 2 months old.

Or do I drill out the rivets. Open it up and be able
to put a spanner on the pipe coupling to re-attach
the inlet elbow.

No idea how to fix a piezo tho :-s

I guess I'm going back to the shop aren't I?

:(

Yes back to the shop - safest option to start with.

Piezo things do fail but two months is far too early.

Even if you have a debit or credit card statement showing purchase the store should honour that.

I would go back to the shop.  You need to be carreful with gas ( I know thats stating the obvious) hopefully you would have a bill as KMAC stated,  If not surely GELERT  would give a credit note at least, especially as there has been some bad press with cooker safety ( i know it was a different cooker) maybe if you're a regular in the shop they will remember you.  Did you buy anything else at the time or make a big purchase something that would make the staff remember you being in??? Hope you get sorted.

Well, I've phoned Oswald Bailey and explained my problems. Thankfully they could find the receipt on their computerized till system and so are happy to exchange for a replacement unit!

Shame they close at 5:30pm... *sighs*

Thankfully BV has a nice boss who will let her leave work early tomorrow!

Fingers crossed the replacement lasts a bit longer!

The much beloved went off to the Oswald Bailey shop
yesterday and presented them with the bust stove.

Unfortunate lady behind the counter started to make
"oh no, we can't possibly replace that" noises.
Thankfully another assistant was present when I made
the phone call and he let her know it had been agree'd.

*phew*

So we have a new Gelert... Tho the inlet pipe on this
one is so tight to the body of the stove I can't see
how I can get the hose onto it without some swearing...

*sigh*
