Take one Value type range single cotton duvet cover.
Cut the stud end off, and turn a hem.
Sew up one side seam to about 24" below top edge. Use this side seam to give the correct width and shape, depending on the bag you're using.
Hem raw edge of 24" slit, leaving a bit of overlap.
Takes about twenty minutes max and costs about £4. Less time required for cheap Ikea duvet covers which don't have studs. And of course you can have pretty patterns...all of our liners are made from long outgrown Thomas the Tank Engine and Postman Pat duvet covers, lol.
