Ok, so we are getting ready for our first camping trip, possible next week for a couple of nights so I may have a few random questions LOL!!!
Do you put sheets on the aribeds before the sleeping bags? If so, will a normal sheet fit, particularly interested in the kids beds as they are those kampa ones with raised sides.
we use duvets on the top of us..and fleece blankets and sleeping bags ( opened out ) on top of the airbed. Some people do use sheets and I have done in the past - but still with a fleece blanket first.
I put a normal fitted double sheet on top of the blow up air bed, then flat sheet (so that I do not come into direct contact with the fleece or sleeping bag), 2 fleece blankets if required, topped with the duck feather down sleeping bag that I open up and use as a duvet.

We have a kampa also for our youngest. I use either the dunelm fleece underblanket or a small child blanket under his brushed cotton sheet and then duvet. He just will not use a sleeping bag and I am not buying any more for him to try! He is always toasty and sleeps well
We just use a normal double cotton sheet on the airbed the kids sleep on, but they'd be fine with nothing! Mine LOVE being in a sleeping bag as they find it more exciting as it's 'not the norm', so guess it depend's on the kids as to what they are more comfortable with. I should imagine a single bed sheet would be fine over the kampa bed, they probably won't even notice if one was there or not anyway!! lol
Perhaps stating the obvious but a sheet or duvet cover on a household bed is a removable, washable cover that separates the bedding and the person. Saves washing the bedding itself.
To my mind, the same principle should apply to however you set up a camping bed. If you are using a sleeping bag, use a liner. Whatever you are sleeping on doesn't really need a sheet - what would be its purpose? If you are using a duvet and an airbed, put something over the latter for insulation and a sheet over the top to protect that. Use a duvet cover on the duvet.
I use an old quilt (Disney Little Mermaid one LOL). It has cotton cover and completely masks any ridges in the air bed. Depending on how warm or cold it is we then either sleep IN our sleeping bags on top or unzip them and use them like duvets.

Dunelm, fake sheep skin fitted sheet - or similar.
It seems to stop the condensation forming between airbed and sleeping bag.
might be too hat in Summer ao I like the idea of throwing the airbed in an old duvet cover.
